PLC可編程控制器的特點
    1）、可靠性高，抗*力強。工業(yè)生產(chǎn)一般對控制設備的可靠性要求很高，并且要有很強的抗*力。PLC能在惡劣的環(huán)境中可靠的工作，平均*時間達到數(shù)萬小時以上，已被*為zui可靠的工業(yè)控制設備之一。
    PLC本身具有較強的自診斷功能，保證硬件核心設備（CPU、存儲器、I/O總線等）在正常情況下執(zhí)行用戶程序，一旦出現(xiàn)故障則立即給出出錯信號，停止用戶程序的執(zhí)行，切斷所有輸出信號，等待修復。PLC的主要模塊均采用大規(guī)模和超大規(guī)模集成電路，I/O系統(tǒng)設計有完善的通道保護與信號調理電路。在結構上對耐熱、防潮、防塵、抗震等都有精確的考慮，在硬件上采用隔離，屏蔽、濾波、接地等抗干擾措施，在軟件上采用數(shù)字濾波等措施。與繼電器系統(tǒng)和通用計算機相比，PLC更能適應工業(yè)現(xiàn)場環(huán)境要求。
    2） 硬件配套齊全，使用方便，適應性強
    PLC是通過執(zhí)行程序實現(xiàn)控制的。當控制要求發(fā)生改變時，只要修改程序即可，zui大限度地縮短了工藝更新所需要的時間。PLC的產(chǎn)品已標準化、系列化、模塊化，而且PLC及配套產(chǎn)品的模塊品種多，用戶可以靈活方便地進行系統(tǒng)配置組合成各種不同規(guī)模、不同功能的控制系統(tǒng)。在PLC控制系統(tǒng)中，只需在PLC的端子上接入相應的輸入/輸出信號線即可，不需要進行大量且復雜的硬接線，并且PLC有較強的帶負載能力，可以直接驅動一般的電磁閥和交流接觸器。
    3）、編程直觀、易學易會
    PLC提供了多種編程語言，其中梯形圖使用zui普遍。PLC是面向用戶的設備，PLC的設計者充分考慮到現(xiàn)場工程技術人員的技能和習慣，因此PLC程序的編制采用梯形圖的簡單指令形式。梯形圖與繼電原理圖相似，這種編程語言形象直觀，易學易懂，不需要專門的計算機知識和語言，現(xiàn)場工程技術人員可在短時間內學會使用。用戶在購買PLC后，只需按說明書的提示，做少量的接線和進行簡易的用戶程序編制工作，就可靈活方便地將PLC應用于生產(chǎn)實踐。

  4）、系統(tǒng)的設計、安裝、調試工作量小，維護方便
    PLC用軟件取代了繼電器控制系統(tǒng)中大量的中間繼電器、時間繼電器、計數(shù)器等器件，使控制柜的設計、安裝、接線工作量大為減少。同時PLC的用戶程序大部分可以在實驗室進行模擬調試，模擬調試好后再將PLC控制系統(tǒng)安裝到生產(chǎn)現(xiàn)場，進行聯(lián)機調試，既安全，又快捷方便。
    PLC的故障率很低，并且有完善的自診斷和顯示功能。當發(fā)生故障時，可以根據(jù)PLC的狀態(tài)指示燈顯示或編程器提供的信息迅速查找到故障原因，排除故障。
    5）、體積小，能耗低
    由于PLC采用了半導體集成電路，其體積小，重量輕，結構緊湊、功耗低、便于安裝，是機電一體化的理想控制器。對于復雜的控制系統(tǒng)，采用PLC后，一般可將開關柜的體積縮小到原來的1/10~1/2。
