（4）輸入輸出組件（I/0模塊）
I/0模塊是CPU與現(xiàn)場(chǎng)I/0裝置或其它外部設(shè)備之間的連接部件。PLC提供了各種操作電平與驅(qū)動(dòng)能力的I/0模塊和各種用途的I/0組件供用戶選用。如輸入/輸出電平轉(zhuǎn)換、電氣隔離、串/并行轉(zhuǎn)換數(shù)據(jù)、誤碼較驗(yàn)、A/D或D/A轉(zhuǎn)換以及其它功能模塊等。I/0模塊將外界輸入信號(hào)變成CPU能接受的信號(hào)，或?qū)PU的輸出信號(hào)變成需要的控制信號(hào)去驅(qū)動(dòng)控制對(duì)象（包括開關(guān)量和模擬量），以確保整個(gè)系統(tǒng)正常工作。
輸入的開關(guān)量信號(hào)接在IN端和0V端之間，PLC內(nèi)部提供24V電源，輸入信號(hào)通過光電隔離，通過R/C濾波進(jìn)入CPU控制板，CPU發(fā)出輸出信號(hào)至輸出端。PLC輸出有三種型式：繼電器方式、晶體管方式和晶閘管方式。
（5）編程器
編程器是用于用戶程序的編制、編輯、調(diào)試檢查和監(jiān)視等。還可以通過其鍵盤去調(diào)用和顯示PLC的一些內(nèi)部狀態(tài)和系統(tǒng)參數(shù)。它通過通訊端口與CPU，完成人機(jī)對(duì)話連接。編程器上有供編程用的各種功能鍵和顯示燈以及編程、監(jiān)控轉(zhuǎn)換開關(guān)。編程器的鍵盤采用梯形圖語言鍵符式命令語言助記符，也可以采用軟件的功能鍵符，通過屏幕對(duì)話方式進(jìn)行編程。
編程器分為簡(jiǎn)易型和智能型兩類。前者只能連機(jī)編程，而后者既可連機(jī)編程又可脫機(jī)編程。同時(shí)前者輸入梯形圖的語言鍵符，后者可以直接輸入梯形圖。根據(jù)不同檔次的PLC產(chǎn)品選配相應(yīng)的編程器。
（6）外部設(shè)備
一般PLC都配有盒式錄音機(jī)、打印機(jī)、EPR0M寫入器、高分辨率屏幕彩色圖形監(jiān)控系統(tǒng)等外部設(shè)備。
（7）電源
根據(jù)PLC的設(shè)計(jì)特點(diǎn)，它對(duì)電源并無特別要求，可使用一般工業(yè)電源。
