數(shù)控可傾回轉(zhuǎn)工作臺主要用于數(shù)控機(jī)床加工中心機(jī)床上，可利用原機(jī)床的兩個控制坐標(biāo)控制轉(zhuǎn)臺的回轉(zhuǎn)和傾斜，也可直接利用本轉(zhuǎn)臺配套的數(shù)控裝置與機(jī)床聯(lián)接完成所需的工作循環(huán) 。它可以完成任意角度的孔、槽、平面類機(jī)械加工，以及曲線、凸輪等的加工，并可達(dá)到較高的精度。另外也可用于非數(shù)控鉆、銑、鏜類機(jī)床上，獨立完成等分和不等分的角度分度工作。
我國數(shù)控機(jī)床功能部件發(fā)展模式，是兩個途徑并行發(fā)展的。一是像數(shù)控轉(zhuǎn)臺、動力卡盤、滾珠絲杠等是專業(yè)化附件生產(chǎn)廠家向數(shù)控附件產(chǎn)品發(fā)展；二是主機(jī)生產(chǎn)廠家自我研發(fā)配套功能性部件，如數(shù)控刀架，個別還有刀庫、主軸等。
